What we collect

When you connect a repository, Pith requests read access to your code and write access to open pull requests on your behalf. We store:

  • Your GitHub or GitLab user ID and email address (for authentication)
  • Repository names and webhook configurations (to trigger doc runs)
  • Billing information processed by Stripe (we never see raw card numbers)

What we do not collect

Pith does not store your source code. Files are fetched at run time to generate documentation and are not persisted after the run completes.

How we use your data

Data is used exclusively to provide the Pith service: triggering doc runs, committing generated documentation to your branch, and sending you run notifications if enabled. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

  • GitHub / GitLab - source code access and pull request creation via their APIs
  • Stripe - payment processing
  • Railway - hosting and infrastructure
  • Inngest - background job processing

Data retention

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. On deletion, we remove your user record and revoke all active repository webhooks. Stripe retains billing records as required by law.
